Sook Yoo (Lee, Sook-Ja) was born in Seoul, Korea. She lives and works in Woodland Park, New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the highly selective Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. She also has studied at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, New York and the Art Student League of New York. Her experience in teaching art which includes sculpture and modern art history at Pusan Foreign University, Pusan, Korea and Suwon University, Suwon, Korea.

Sook Yoo's public collections are at: Bankarm Sculpture Park, Backam, Korea; Korean Housing Bank, Changwon, Korea; Seoul Angkara Sculpture Park, Seoul, Korea; and Bam Boo Building, Seoul, Korea.

She has received awards from the 2007 - The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, Summit, NJ – Honorable Mention; 1995 - 14th Korean National Art Competition, National Art Center, Seoul, Korea; 1993 - 12th Korean National Art Competition, National Art Center, Seoul, Korea; 1993 - 8th Seoul Modern Sculpture Open Competition, Seoul Press Center, Seoul, Korea – Highest Honor; 1991 - 10th Korean National Art Competition, National Art Center, Seoul, Korea and 1988 - 4th National Modern Art Exhibition, Kwang Choo City Hall Art Center, Korea - Highest Honor.

She has continually exhibited at various art galleries in Korea, New York and New Jersey.
